LAST MINUTE GIFTS - e-vouchers! A self guided walk to three very special, unexpected bars with delicious food.
It's all in the title, as you stroll to 3 very different and very special bars for drinks and sharing plates. Where are you going? We can't tell you - follow the directions.
The glasses have been polished, the bottles are breathing, so what are you waiting for?
WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?
A very short walk, with some very delicious wine to sample at each venue. The drinks will reflect the specialty of the bar - more of that below - and each is a destination in its own right. Once inside, you will probably be loath to move on, but move on you must, as more treats and small plates will be waiting for you at the next spot. The bars have been selected by The Indytute because they are the kind of places we like to hang out in. Each provides a warm, welcoming atmosphere with knowledgeable staff who care about their wines. An oasis from the everyday.
Just follow our instructions. The wine awaits.

Where am I off to?
A French wine bar. Start your progress tasting a French wine from an independent winemaker. The vibe, as you might expect from a Dalston bar, is industrial with artisan highlights. It is owned and run by Philippe, who likes to connect artisanal producers with 'people', hence the name. He also has a very nice line in shared plates du jour - one of which is what you will be tasting alongside the wine.
The next bar specializes in delicious cocktails. The atmosphere buzzes from early evening until late. It's moody and twinkling with velvet banquettes and leather chairs. Here you will be tasting a wine cocktail expertly designed by the in-house mixologist. Gin-based with a Chardonnay wine. Ssshh... the rest of the ingredients are known only to the house. There will be a shared tapas platter to complement the cocktail.
Our last choice is a short hop and a skip rather than a walk, where the fusion of Mediterranean and Japanese should excite and delight. The interior is dark with exposed brickwork and copper. Here you will be tasting two rice wines or sake. A mini flight alongside a food pairing. Oishii.
This is a 5* experience created by the team at The Indytute. Who knows east London like the back of their 'and.
Suitable for vegetarians.
This is a gift for two people and runs from Thursday to Saturday. There will be three stops starting somewhere in Hackney (don't you just love surprises!) at 4pm with your final stop at 6.30.
