You will receive a mug from this series. As they are handmade and hand painted no mug is the same, each one is unique in its own way, and much is down to the magic of the firing. The mugs are formed by rolling the clay with a rolling pin, cutting and forming slabs of clay that are then folded and formed into mugs. These mugs always slightly wonky as the pricess is purely by hand and not in a machine or factory. I feel this look connects you to the maker and the process. The mushrooms are hand painted onto the mug. 24 carat gold lustre is applied and the mug recieves a third firing.
Due to the gold lustre this mug is not suitable for use in a microwave.
These are imperfectly perfect, and not for someone who is looking for precision. They connect you to the maker and the process and will be a prefect unique gift or treat to yourself.
Process of making the mug - from wedging and rolling the clay, building, trimming, a week drying, bisque firing, sanding, glazing and glaze firing and gold firing - the ceramic process takes 3 weeks approx. Your mug will be lovingly wrapped and send on its way by Royal Mail.
