Healthy Cookies for Rebel Snackers
SNACKZILLA is a new kid’s snack brand aimed at primary school aged children as a lunchbox and after school snack. Our soft baked oat cookies contain 40% less sugar than the average sweet biscuit, are a source of fibre and have no palm oil, artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.
Marieke, the founder, spent 2 years developing the products, based on her Great-Grandmothers oat cookie recipe. She is the mum of two boys and was frustrated at the lack of healthy brands on the market that appealed to kids who had grown out of baby and toddler products as well as concerned over the amount of sugar that was contained in the majority of snacks kids were consuming. Acknowledging that many children, including her own, weren’t going to go overnight from snacking on junk food to carrots, she wanted to create a step change in the right direction, giving kids a healthier version of something they love.
SNACKZILLA was recently selected for The Good Food Fund, a new £1.8m venture backed fund backing ambitious food brands who are helping to tackle childhood obesity in association with Guy’s and St Thomas’s Charity. SNACKZILLA currently supports Shooting Stars Children’s Hospice, and is looking to launch a Foundation in the near future.
