Our Story

Picnic Blanket was founded in the summer of 2020 with a vision to be the place to find the cutest jewellery you will ever lay your eyes on.

Our original and unique concept for our pieces was dreamt up by our founder, Katie, who has always had a profound love of animals and miniatures ever since she was a little girl. It is based on an affinity for pastel colours, utopian dreamscapes, and living in the countryside.

We are continuously designing and creating new pieces and collections consistent with our unique style and we are committed to making the dreams of our customers come true, finally offering them the jewellery they’ve been longing for.

In early 2022 we upgraded to a larger studio and very much look forward to being able to share more behind the scenes of our business and design processes with you all, offering an even greater insight into our very own dreamworld.

We cannot thank our customers and community enough for their constant support, feedback, well-wishes, and kindness. It is so important to us to foster a positive, loving community and to create a sense of place in our work.

Where the magic happens!

Katie's Process

I am constantly looking to bring my daydreams to life and jewellery is my preferred medium so I do this with beads and sketches and I love every minute of it

Katie makes all our beautiful beaded jewellery by hand in her jewellery studio, and she has also recently designed a range of gold vermeil earrings, lovingly titled the ‘Dreamear Collection’ to complement our beaded range.

Our beaded jewellery is heavily inspired by the beautiful English countryside which is why you'll often see little ducklings, hedgehogs, piglets, and cows feature in our jewellery!

For the gold vermeil earrings they begin first as a sketch, which is then refined until it becomes a 3D CAD (computer-aided design), I then go through various stages of CADs until it is perfect, we then receive a sample, and if that is also perfect we go ahead with launching the final product! My personal favourites are the Teddy Bears, they're just a dream come true for me, one of my proudest moments.

Our jewellery comes beautifully packaged ready to give as a gift to yourself or a loved one. Each piece comes in a branded PB gift box.
