The print technique I use works best with black and white images, giving the artwork a gorgeous timeless look. The birch plywood I use is from a sustainable source. Wood grain shows through the printed image to enhance the beauty of the map. Natural variations within the wood add to the character of the handmade nature of the item, making each map a truly unique ‘one off’. You can choose between a natural birch finish, or alternatively the wood can be lightly whitewashed before the print is applied.

This item is small enough to stand on a shelf or mantle piece but can also be hung on the wall. It is supplied with a brass hanger for easy hanging from a picture pin or nail. I also offer this item framed - in a simple white or black wood profile. You may prefer this as it gives the artwork a more contemporary style.
