My name is Heather and I am the face and hands behind Leigh Calligraphy! I am based in beautiful Leigh-on-Sea in Essex and began learning calligraphy for my own wedding so that I could create my own wedding stationery and on-the-day signage.

I fell in love with the art form and began developing the business into creating unique and personalised Modern Calligraphy Gifts. My passion for travel inspired me to begin writing on vintage map prints and I launched my personalised calligraphy maps at the Handmade Festival at Hampton Court Palace in 2019. Since then, my maps have been a popular gift for weddings, birthdays and graduations and I personalise each one by hand using a faux calligraphy technique.

As well as my maps, I design a range of A4 calligraphy prints, cards, and personalised seasonal decorations and I pride myself on using eco-friendly, high quality materials.

Over the last few years with my little business, I have taught modern calligraphy to around 1000 people, worked on lots of amazing weddings, been a part of some fabulous styled shoots, met some incredibly talented creatives and have watched my calligraphy evolve into something I’m pretty proud of.
