Wall hanging embroidered with elephants and peacock, handmade from 100% cotton handloom fabric, hand-dyed using Oeko-Tex Passport-certified dyes. Includes jute stick for hanging.
Embroidery design: Our embroidery designs are named after our favourite parts of North-West Bangladesh. Our wall hangings feature our Dinajpur (elephant) design and Rangpur (peacock) design. Dinajpur is the district where our blankets are hand-stitched, in a village called Rajampur. Rangpur was the home of the pioneering feminist Begum Rokeya.
Colour: Our colour palette is named after the mothers who make our blankets and their children. Sneha is the daughter of Asfara.
Presented in a re-usable cotton drawstring bag, hand-crafted from a vintage sari offcut, with a packaging insert explaining Khushi Kantha’s social enterprise mission and story – so it works perfectly as a gift!
The label hand-stitched into the wall hanging features the geo-coordinates of the village where it’s made and the hand-embroidered name of the mother who made it.
