Design. Craft. Purpose.
From moments of inspiration drawn from real people and real life, to the playful interaction of materials, Heather Scott imagines and engineers contemporary furniture and homeware products, that are made to be used, time and time again.
Produced in Cornwall, each piece echoes the simple beauty of Japanese and Dutch design, influenced by her family roots in Netherlands. It's all in the detail. The craftsmanship. The honesty. And the functionality of products that make more of your everyday.

Forever fascinated by things.
Heather’s childhood was filled with Lego and Scalextrics. And at age 14 she built a house for her chickens. She’d scratched the itch. There was no stopping her now.
Heather began studying Contemporary Craft, but one year in, she knew this wasn’t the path for her. She wanted to be working and learning from practitioners. Her first move after stepping off the traditional track was a carpentry apprenticeship, from laying floors to hanging the doors. The skills and work ethic she learnt during this formative time stayed with her forever.
After starting Heather Scott Design in 2013, today Heather continues to find wisdom and inspiration from her creative peers. This community of makers and artists is a vital component of her work. Mechanics have taught her ingenuity. Ceramicists have inspired her to play with colour. Architects have encouraged her to push the boundaries of space. Knowing she shares the unique experience of making with these formidable people is what keeps her moving
