TAKE CARE: Our Jewellery collections need to be looked after and treated carefully and we have compiled a list of tips below on how to care for your Cabinet jewellery to keep it in great condition.
Skin and hair products can react with jewellery causing it to tarnish, discolour and possibly corrode. We advise applying any cosmetics, make up and scents before you put on your jewellery.
Keep all of your metal and gemstones well away from domestic cleaning products and avoid contact with things like perfume and hairspray. Avoid harsh chemicals including chlorine or detergents coming into contact with your jewellery.
Remove jewellery before exercising as perspiration can contribute to the tarnishing of your jewellery. Swimming pools and salt water will cause tarnishing especially to plated jewellery. Water will also contribute to tarnishing of your jewellery. Therefore we advise you remove your jewellery before taking a dip. Damp and hot conditions will cause the jewellery to tarnish badly.
Storing your jewellery in an air tight bag will help to keep it in great condition - exposure to the air and environment can slowly cause your jewellery to tarnish over time. Acid free tissue is also a great way to store your jewellery and of course the best place for it is in its original packaging that we supply. Another good tip is to store your jewellery separately to prevent scratching.
Pearls are delicate natural and one of a kind. They have a low resistance to heat and it's best to avoid contact with any harsh chemicals or perfumes. To clean gently polish with a dry or damp cloth or order a special pearl polishing cloth.
